Hello I am trying to update my taranis plus firmware 2.0.9 to match the latest open tx companion 2.0.15 i have running on my mac. I have downloaded the 2.0.15 firmware and cannot find instructions for mac users. Can someone lead me to complete instructions for mac? Edit; Looks like i successfully updated the Tx. After the first update attempt i was notified that a DFU was missing.
Don't remember how i found the dfu download but opening it bricked finder. Restarted the mac tried the firmare update again and it updated, but there was no notification that the update happened or finished? I didn't know the update completed until i checked the Tx version screen. Confusing, but done. Going there first could have saved you some trouble. Why not check out the site? We have a lot there and are adding content all the time. Thanks maguro.
You guys did a great job with that site. I have been browsing the open tx university site as of a few days ago and many other threads of information which has made the learning curve unnecessarily long and confusing.
If a note had been slipped into the Taranis plus shipping carton explaning the first few basic things to look for regarding firmware compatability, how to update it and where to look for all of the training information i would need it is possible i could have saved a couple of weeks of searching for the open tx university site. I have very recently discovered that most everything before taranis plus is not applicable to my T+-Tx so i am now focusing on the information at the open tx university site as it is very organized and easy to use. Your assistance is appreciated. I think I was a bit sleep deprived last nightt. I took a break read up a bit, watched a few tutorials, and came to the conclusion I was trying to accomplish the something with companion simualte Tx function that you cannot do.
I was under the impression that if I moved the sticks and switches on my taranis + Tx, the simulator would mimic those movements, but after watching mutliple tutorials, I no longer believe this to be true, can someone confirm this? You are correct, moving the sticks on the Taranis does not move the controls in Companion.

The simulation is to show what the outputs will be with the given inputs. For example, if you map the rudder to channel 4 and run the simulation, moving the on-screen rudder will show channel 4 output being affected.
But it would be a cool thing if the simulator could take its input from the physical radio! Does anyone know what's going on here? I have companion 9X that used to work well with my Turnigy 9X (Smartie Part board) but now throws up an unknown CPU error when I try to burn new models or FW to it. It happily reads the eeprom and does a backup but won't burn back onto the 9X unless it is the backup.
Have tried with OpenTXc but that only manages to wipe the 9X back to uncalibrated with no models. (OpenTXc works perfectly with my Taranis+) But I can successfully burn the backup back on. Late 2009 iMac (10.9.5) companion9X V 1.52 (revision 2395) OpenTX r2940 Oh and one more dumb question - Can I ditch companion9X and use just OpenTXcompanion for the 9X (when I resolve the above issue)?
EDIT: It all works nicely using C9X V1.51 on my early 2011 macbook (10.9.5) Might revert to 1.51 on the iMac 2nd EDIT: Further testing revealed that it is still having the same problems on the Macbook too. Running osx 10.10.2 and companion 2.0.15.
I see this problem, can anyone else duplicate it? Open an eepe file and double-click a model to edit it. In the editing window click on the upper-left green button to maximize the window. I find that the editing window then disappears and can't be found on any of my desktops, and no other actions are possible within Companion. The only way to recover is to quit Companion and restart it. Anyone else see this? I wanted to maximize the edit window to take screen shots.

With Mac OS 10.10.2 and OpenTX Companion 2.0.13, I can tell you I -DO NOT- have this issue. (I haven't upgraded to 2.0.15 yet).
This is on a 2012 Macbook Pro. In 2.0.13, the eepe edit window stays within the confines of the OpenTX Companion window.
Hitting the green button to maximize it fills the OpenTX window, but all the buttons are still reachable. There is a key on the top of my keyboard that shows three boxes (this is also the F3 key). Do you have one of those? If I hit that, all the open windows show up. What happens if you hit that key? Are you able to take control of your window?

I wanted to maximize the edit window to take screen shots. I'm running 2.0.15 on OSX 10.9.5. I did what you described, and it all worked as it should.
The name of this software is companion9x 1.52 and it is an EEPROM editor and a well-visualized simulator for opentx, druvin9x and er9x. It partially supports th9x and some firmware for 9X transmitters and FrSky Taranis Radio. It is distributed free of charge under the GPL open source license.
