I use an iMac. Mostly just for design. I have MacSign which came with my Summa cutter but really don't like the layout so I use SignCut Pro for cutting but I am running the cut software on a windows laptop because I didn't want my cutter tied to my desktop. It sits over in another part of the room.

I think the reason there aren't many posts in this forum is just what you said, not a lot of problems. Sometimes I have had a little trouble finding the correct driver, I never did get my old P-Cut chinese cutter working off the mac.
Didn't try too hard for the same reason I don't have my current cutter running off it. One of these days I may invest in a Macbook to replace my current laptop. How do you like your Macbook Pro? I would hate to give up my 21' screen for design but maybe as a second computer. I use CS5 like you, been thinking about trying out the CC version. CS6 didn't bring enough to the table to justify the cost of the upgrade but the CC version has some cool stuff. I am just not a huge fan of using a cloud based program that you have a monthly payment on.
IMac 10.6.8, SummaCut D75R, Illustrator CS5, SignCut Pro. I create all signs, decals, heat vinyl designs in Adobe Illustrator and cut directly from Illustrator to a Graphtec FC-7000. Been doing this for 10+ years. I have a Powerbook G4, MacBook Pro 17' and a MacBook Pro 13'. Been using Macs since 1988.

How is the lag time on the macbooks? I use an imac mostly but have been considering buying an additional macbook pro and was wondering if the processor bogs at all with illustrator? I know even my desktop will slow up sometimes when rendering large tracings or 3D images.
