WESTWOOD, Mass. The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released the 2018 Women's Soccer Championships Bracket on Sunday afternoon. The women's soccer championship tournament consists of seven teams that will begin tournament play on Tuesday, October 30th. Following an undefeated 2018 season, MIT (14-2-3, 9-0-1) secured the top seed with 28 points and the rights to host a semifinal matchup on Thursday, November 1st. With 24 points, Springfield (12-4-1, 8-2-0) claimed the No. 2 seed and will host a quarterfinal game on Tuesday, October 30th.
In a head to head tie-break of 19 points, Emerson (10-6-1, 6-3-1) emerged as the No. 3 seed with Coast Guard at the No. 4 seed, after the Lions defeated the Bears in regular season action. WPI (11-5-2, 5-3-2) earned the No. 5 spot with 17 points, as Babson (7-9-2, 4-6-0) came out on top in a three-way tie of 12 points to claim the sixth seed. Earning the final spot in a head to head tie-break is No. 7 Wheaton (11-6-1, 4-6-0).
