So now I have another question even though my original question is still unresolved. I have played around with the Keypad turning it Off and On and watching the Bluetooth window in SP to see whether it would have an effect on the Bluetooth connection.

The LMP Bluetooth Keypad 2 is a Bluetooth keyboard that will add a num pad to an Apple Magic keyboard or to your MacBook Pro. If you use Numbers from iWork, Excel, tax software or any number heavy software, you will likely notice the lack of a num pad. Strangely enough, it does not seem to make a difference. The Keypad seems to be connected (see image of Bluetooth window that I have pasted) no matter what the state (on, off) of the Keypad. Is this normal? I would have thought that turning the Keyboard off would cause the loss of the connection. Then to re-establish the connection, you would have to go through the pairing process again. What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks Kristin I tried your steps (their steps really, if we want to be accurate) and they DID work. This, after everything else that I tried failed to get the keyboard functioning so as you can imagine, I'm delighted at this excellent tutorial from the makers of the lmp.

I'm puzzled though at the seemingly inordinate OFF / ON switching that we do during this process - turn off your Mac start up your Mac and shut it down again start your Mac What's that all about? But in the end, the process worked beautifully and that is what really matters. Hi Kristin, Wanted to let you know the instructions you posted to get the LMP Keypad to pair worked PERFECTLY!! While the instruction book says once you press the pairing button on the back it will blink yellow, it did not. But my Mac instantly recognized the keypad after the second start. Typing from the keypad now.

That's numbers for thank you!! You have to do this process everytime you replace your batteries if you've upgraded to 10.7.2 or higher. Thank YOU!!!!!!!! This actually worked, I though I was doomed. Hello Avocece The LMP is NOT attached to the keyboard during the pairing process since you have to turn the thing upside down to press the small black button on the underside of the keyboard during the pairing process. On my LMP, there are 2 buttons on the Right hand edge of the keyboard. A big round silver one that you can use to turn the iMac keyboard (not the LMP keyboard) on and off, and a very small diameter round black button which is the one that controls the On Off state of the LMP keyboard. OK, so now we have that out of the way, you should be able to connect quite readily via the above instructions.
